It is learnt that the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce has identified this year as the "international market expansion year", subdividing the target market, highlighting the key points of development, making clear the south direction, strengthening the east direction, and opening the west to the West. In order to eliminate the impact of earthquake disasters as soon as possible, accelerate the pace of post disaster reconstruction and opening to the outside world in Sichuan, boost the development of Sichuan's superior outward industries, cultivate superior export-oriented enterprises, and expand the export of "Sichuan made" products. The Sichuan provincial chamber of Commerce organized the "Sichuan enterprises' European business" economic and trade activities.

This is the first time that Sichuan has undertaken professional market development and economic and trade activities after the earthquake. According to statistics, Sichuan's clothing exports in the first 6 months of this year were US $650 million, an increase of 35.6% over the previous year, accounting for 12% of the total exports of the province, and 140 million US dollars of footwear exports, an increase of 36.8% over the same period last year, accounting for 2.6% of the total export volume of the province.

The participating enterprises have the advantages of large production scale, good product quality and strong export potential.

According to the briefing, the Sichuan economic and trade delegation will launch a trade promotion forum in Italy, focusing on the advantages of Sichuan's textile and clothing industry and footwear industry, strengthening positive publicity, restoring popularity and confidence in cooperation, stabilizing old customers, opening up new markets, and displaying new features.

The Department of Commerce will classify and participate in the activities of enterprises, and print the negotiation manual including product, market, contact mode and so on. The company representatives will carry on the sample docking discussion and show the samples at the scene.

In addition, the economic and Trade Commission will also organize enterprises to inspect footwear models, shoe industry museums, footwear and clothing wholesale markets in Venice, Italy and Barcelona, and learn advanced production processes and R & D designs from foreign counterparts, so as to further understand the production and sales situation of foreign counterparts.
