Petra News Agency reported on May 21: Ahab Kadri, representative of the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCI) textile and leather industry, said that the plan to promote the development of the textile industry in Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) would greatly improve the quantity and quality of Jordanian textile exports. In 2022, Jordan's textile industry will provide about 149000 jobs, effectively reducing the unemployment rate. Jordan's textile exports rank 16th in the world, and it is the first Arab country to export textiles to the United States, accounting for 2% of the textile imports of the United States. He predicted that Jordan's textile exports would reach 7.3 billion US dollars in the next decade (2.1 billion US dollars in 2022).
